Training Opportunities

OCM will be holding two full-day seminars titled “Regulatory and Commenting Agency Permitting Roles in the Louisiana Coastal Zone”.  The first seminar will be held April 29, 2010 in the LaBelle Room at DNR’s LaSalle Building in Baton Rouge, LA (617 N Third Street).  The second seminar will be held May 18, 2010 in the Conference Room at NOAA's Estuarine Habitats and Coastal Fisheries Center in Lafayette, LA (646 Cajundome Blvd).  The seminars are free but space is limited so we are requesting pre-registration in order to get a headcount.  Please contact our office at OCMinfo@la.gov to reserve your spot.  If demand for the seminars exceeds available space, additional seminars will be scheduledClick here for more information and an agenda.

Online system updates

We are in the process of moving to a new document imaging system that will improve how CUP application documents are viewed.  Currently, when documents are scanned into, uploaded to or created by the electronic system, they only appear with the use of the Panagon Viewer.  The new imaging system will create pdf versions of the documents so that the Panagon Viewer is not required for viewing.  Implementation is anticipated to occur between April 9-11 with availability of the new feature on April 12th.  More details will be forthcoming as the implementation date nears.

Program Updates

In an effort to improve our customers and stakeholders understanding of OCM programs, we have recently updated our Frequently Asked Questions.  Please review these FAQ’s when you have an opportunity and let us know if you have any suggestions for improvement or additional FAQ’s you would like to see posted.  Suggestions should be sent to OCMinfo@la.gov.
