State Mineral and Energy Board announces results of January Lease Sale

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. 

The Board collected $1.65 million in bonus revenue for the January lease sale. The current 2018-2019 total bonus payment is approximately $9.5 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 14 leases covering 7,908 acres. The leases were located in Beauregard, Cameron, Iberia, Jefferson, Lafourche and Plaquemines parishes. 

The total bonus payments to the state for the previous fiscal year, 2017-2018, amounted to $4.6 million.
