State Mineral and Energy Board announces results of December Lease Sale

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020 remotely via Zoom conference. 

The Board collected $1.18 million in bonus revenue for the December lease sale. The current 2020-2021 total bonus payment is approximately $3.58 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 8 leases covering 1,500 acres sold. The leases were located in Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Red River and Webster parishes. 

The total bonus payments to the state for the previous fiscal year, 2019-2020, amounted to $2.6 million.
