State Mineral and Energy Board announces results of December Lease Sale

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.

The Board collected $403,246 in bonus revenue for the December lease sale. The current 2021-2022 total bonus payment is approximately $1.87 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 3 leases covering 316 acres sold. The leases were located in Plaquemines and Red River parishes. 

The total bonus payments to the state for the previous fiscal year, 2020-2021, amounted to $7 million.
