State Mineral and Energy Board announces results of August Lease Sale

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.

The Board collected $1.92 million in bonus revenue for the August lease sale. The current 2022-2023 total bonus payment is approximately $2.62 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 7 leases covering 752 acres sold. The leases were located in Bossier, Caddo, Lafayette, Natchitoches, Plaquemines and Vermilion parishes. 

The total bonus payments to the state for the previous fiscal year, 2021-2022, amounted to $3.67 million.
