Pursuant to provisions of the laws of the State of Louisiana and particularly Title 30 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1977 as amended, and provisions of Statewide Order 29-M-3 (LAC 43:XVII, Subpart 5), notice is hereby given that the Commissioner of Conservation will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 P.M., January 24, 2019. The hearing will be held at the Assumption Parish Community Center located at 4910 Highway 308, Napoleonville, LA.

At such hearing, the Commissioner or his designated representative will give any interested person the opportunity to present testimony, facts, or oral or written comments relative to a draft permit (Order) concerning an application from Dow Hydrocarbons & Resources, LLC (Dow) 875 Highway 70, Belle Rose, Louisiana 70341, to construct and operate two new Class III Brine Extraction (Solution-Mining) wells and to amend the area permit at its Grand Bayou Operations located in Sections 41, 42, 43 and 45, Township 12 South, Range 13 East, Assumption Parish, Louisiana. These applications were previously announced in public notices dated April 5, 2016 and March 21, 2018.

The proposed caverns are identified as Dow Brine Well No. 026 and Dow Brine Well No. 027. Solution-mining is proposed to occur initially at an approximate depth of 4,700 feet below ground level. The base of the lowermost underground source of drinking water at the specific facility location occurs at an approximate depth of 330 feet below ground level.

Written comments concerning the application package must be received by the Office of Conservation no later than 4:00 P.M., January 25, 2019. Submit all comments to: Mr. Stephen H. The application package is available for inspection between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday in the Injection & Mining Division Office, Rm. 817 of the LaSalle Building, 617 North 3rd Street, Baton Rouge, LA. A copy of the application is also available at the Police Jury Administration Building, 4813 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA, and the Assumption Parish Library located at 293 Napoleon Ave., Napoleonville, LA. All persons having interest in the aforesaid shall take notice thereof.
