Hazardous Liquids & Gas Transmission

The Pipeline Safety Hazardous Liquids program has been in existence since the late 1980s. The program regulates the liquid pipelines for over 40 different operators and incorporates more than 4,800 miles of jurisdictional piping.

The Gas Transmission program has been in existence since the inception of the Pipeline Safety program in the early 1970s. It regulates the gas transmission facilities for over 90 different companies and incorporates over 6,400 miles of jurisdictional piping.

In 1999, the Pipeline Safety Section merged these two programs together to establish a consistent inspection practice for our main transmission and liquid trunklines throughout the State. We have 4 employees that perform the inspections, compliance, training and enforcement under this program.
