State Mineral and Energy Board announces results of August Lease Sale

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.

The Board collected $888,728 in bonus revenue for the August lease sale. The current 2024-2025 total bonus payment is approximately $2.48 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 6 leases covering 384 acres sold. The leases were located in Caddo, Calcasieu, Iberia and Vermilion parishes. 

The total bonus payments to the state for the previous fiscal year, 2023-2024, amounted to $14 million.
