Weatherization and Energy Assistance Programs
The Department of Energy and Natural Resources is NOT the administrator for these programs.
These are a few of the U.S. Department of Energy‘s programs. The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) enables low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) can assist low-income households, particularly those with the lowest incomes, in meeting their immediate home energy needs.
These programs are administered by the Louisiana Housing Corporation. For more information on WAP, or LIHEAP: http://www.lhfa.state.la.us/
