Geomechanical Reports

To help better understand salt behavior at the Sulphur Mines dome, LDENR ordered Westlake to perform a series of geomechanical studies on salt closest to Caverns 6 and 7. Currently, Westlake is in the process of completing a five phase evaluation. 

• Baseline Geomechanical Evaluation of Hypothetical Low-Pressure Conditions in Westlake Caverns 7B and 6X at the Sulphur Mines Dome, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana (RESPEC) - August 10, 2023
• Geomechanical Evaluation of Pressure Drawdown in Westlake Cavern PPG 6 at the Sulphur Mines Salt Dome, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana (RESPEC) - September 7, 2023
• Proposal for the Geomechanical Evaluation of Hypothetical Low-Pressure Conditions in Westlake Caverns 6 and 7 at the Sulphur Mines Salt Dome in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - October 2, 2023
• Phase 2 Geomechanical Results - January 26, 2024
• Phase 3 Geomechanical Revised Scope - February 12, 2024
• Phase 3 Geomechanical Results - March 8, 2024
