La. Mineral and Energy Board holds May Lease Sale

BATON ROUGE- The State Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, May 8th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected $584,807 in bonuses in the May lease sale, bringing the new Fiscal Year ‘12-13, total collected to over $15.6 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 14 leases covering 1,215 acres, out of 35 nominated tracts covering more than 33,304 acres.
The Board sold leases in Bossier, Caddo, Cameron, Iberville, Jefferson Davis, LaSalle, Livingston, St. Bernard, St. Martin, Terrebonne parishes.
