State Mineral and Energy Board October Lease Sale brings $4 million

The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, October 9th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected over $4 million in bonus revenue for the state in the October lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2013-14 total collected to over $8.5 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 24 leases covering 15,360 acres, out of 45 nominated tracts covering more than 61,725 acres.
The Board sold leases in Bossier, Caddo, Cameron, DeSoto, Jefferson, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Charles, and Webster parishes.
