Mineral and Energy Board reports June Lease Sale amount $2.9 million

BATON ROUGE- The State Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, June 13th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected more than $2.9 million in bonuses in the June lease sale, making the total collected for FY 11-12 more than $34.2 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 16 leases covering more than 6,193 acres, out of 44 nominated tracts covering more than 55,484 acres.
The Board sold leases in Avoyelles, Lafourche, Plaquemines, and St. Martin parishes.
