Mineral and Energy Board brings $4.9 million for state in August Lease Sale
BATON ROUGE- The State Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, August 8th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected over $4.9 million in bonuses in the August lease sale, bringing the new Fiscal Year ‘12-13, total collected to $5.4 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 51 leases covering more than 11,559 acres, out of 115 nominated tracts covering more than 147,500 acres. The largest number of leases in a single parish was in Caddo parish, with 20 awarded leases.
The Board sold leases in Allen, Ascension, Bossier, Caddo, Calcasieu, Catahoula, Concordia, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, LaSalle, Livingston, Plaquemines, Rapides, St. James, St. Mary, Vermilion, and West Feliciana.
