APRIL MINERAL LEASE SALE OF $6.2 MILLION ANNOUNCED BY BOARD

The State Mineral Board conducted a Lease Sale April 11, 2001, at 10 a.m. in the Mineral Board Hearing Room located in the State Land and Natural Resources Building in Baton Rouge. Below are the preliminary results of the Lease Sale and 2000-2001 Fiscal Year totals.

Mineral Board Secretary Gus Rodemacher said 99 tracts were nominated with 31 leases issued this month for a total of $6.2 million. He said this is the largest mineral lease sale since June 1998, when the sale was $13.7 million.
