August Mineral Lease Sale Results

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.

The Board collected $343,132 in bonus revenue for the state in the August lease sale. The FY 2016-17 total bonus payment amount is $402,282.

At this month’s lease sale, there were three leases covering 678 acres, with nominated tracts covering 25,314 acres. The leases were located in DeSoto and Terrebonne parishes.

According to the Board, mineral bonus payments to the state in FY 2015-16 amounted to $5.5 million.
