Baton Rouge Earth Day Celebration - April 17th
The 15th Annual Baton Rouge Earth Day environmental festival will be held on Sunday, April 17th in downtown Baton Rouge on North Blvd. Activities will begin at 12 noon and continue until 8:30 pm.
This year’s theme “Imagine,” encourages children and adults to use their imagination in learning about and interacting with the earth. The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will participate in the event with three exhibits and will have informational and promotional materials to distribute.
The DNR’s Coastal Management and Coastal Restoration divisions will be exhibiting under the Wetlands Tent where hands-on and interactive demonstrations are featured. The lively and colorful “Estuarians” will be making an appearance at the America’s WETLAND: Campaign to Save Coastal Louisiana exhibit also in the Wetlands Tent.
DNR’s Office of Conservation staff will be exhibiting on North Blvd. with giveaway items and information on the management of the state’s ground water resources.
DNR is a proud participant in Earth Day celebrations and encourages everyone to support this effort. More information can be found at www.earthdaybr.org.
