Bridge enhancement work to start says officials

A ground breaking ceremony will be held Tuesday, June 10th at 9 a.m. for enhancement work to the St. Martin Parish Bridge located at Bayou Amy near Henderson, LA.
State Senator Craig Romero and Rep. Sydnie Mae Durand will join Parish President Scott Angelle, Henderson Mayor To-Bit Patin and area citizens for the ceremony. It will be held on the east side of the Henderson Bridge across from Pat's Restaurant.
Plans to make improvements to the existing bridge include brick wing walls, decorative handrails, painting, ornamental lighting, and landscaping outlined in the Henderson Master Plan. The total cost of the bridge enhancement project is $62,500. Atchafalaya Basin Program (ABP) Executive Director Sandra Thompson said state and local government share in the funding. She said the public is invited to the event on Tuesday.
