Candidates for Governor to hear more on coastal LA
Gubernatorial candidates will have the opportunity to ask questions and make statements at a briefing in Baton Rouge, Friday, June 27, 2003, on what could prove to be a pivotal issue in the upcoming gubernatorial election; stopping the state’s coastal land loss and its impacts on our environment, our economy and our way of life.
The Governor’s Advisory Commission on Coastal Restoration and Conservation, in conjunction with Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL), will host the briefing to give candidates an overview of the challenges, to bring them up to speed on recently-passed state legislation and to define the state’s posture regarding Federal actions that could impact Louisiana’s ability to address the problem.
DNR Secretary Jack Caldwell will participate in the coastal briefing on Friday.
