MAY LEASE SALE REPORT ISSUED BY STATE MINERAL BOARD
The State Mineral Board conducted a Lease Sale May 8, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mineral Board Hearing Room located in the State Land and Natural Resources Building in Baton Rouge. Below are the preliminary results of the Lease Sale and 1995-96 Fiscal Year totals.
PROJECTS TO REPAIR DAMAGE TO ISLANDS BEGUN
Construction has begun on two projects designed to repair hurricane damage to Timbalier and East Islands, Isle Dernieres in Terrebonne Parish. The repairs are being funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the projects are being managed by the Department of Natural Resources' Coastal Restoration Division.
INJECTION AND MINING DIRECTOR NAMED ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER OF CONSERVATION
Department of Natural Resources Secretary Jack Caldwell announced today a new Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Conservation. James H. Welsh, Director of the Injection and Mining Division for the department since 1983, was named to the position effective April 15, 1996.

DNR INVITES PUBLIC TO LEARN ABOUT NEW ENERGY PROGRAM
The Department of Natural Resources announced today that it will hold an Open House the week of March 18 - 22, to promote a new program known as Energy Rated Homes ofLouisiana. In introducing the program, activities and information on the Energy Rated Homes of Louisiana (ERHL) and the Energy Efficiency Mortgage (EEM) programs will be highlighted and showcased during the month of March.
