Contact: DNR Public Information Office at 225.342.8955
Two public meetings are scheduled in June to discuss the state's draft plans for the coastal impact assistance program (CIAP) to be held in New Orleans and Lafayette, June 4th and 11th. Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) coastal officials are working toward providing a final plan to Governor Foster on July 1st.
The CIAP program was authorized by Congress and funding will be made available through the U.S. Department of the Interior to coastal states and communities for a variety of environmental projects aimed at protecting or enhancing wetlands, marine resources and natural resources. DNR program coordinators will identify and give an overview of projects selected for the CIAP program during this public review period.
