Coming Soon- La. Oil & Gas Seminar in New Orleans

DNR and state agencies encourage participation

Thursday, July 26, 2012

The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will hold its annual education and training seminar Louisiana Oil & Gas: From SONRIS to Sunset in New Orleans at the Roosevelt Hotel on August 15-17, 2012.

Industry professionals, operators, and those in the oil and gas field of work should not miss this opportunity if they have not participated before. The seminar includes updated information on doing business in Louisiana –  primarily, it’s regulatory program, including how to obtain permits from multiple state agencies.

Sessions on mineral royalty and severance tax will also be offered.  Continuing education credit opportunities will be available for attorneys in Texas and Louisiana, as well as engineers and landmen from across the country.

A variety of sessions are available, along with instructions on the easy-use and access to the state's online oil and gas records and forms database, known as DNR SONRIS, www.sonris.com

This year’s featured speakers will be Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association President Chris John and  La. Secretary of Economic Development Stephen Moret.

DNR Secretary Scott Angelle noted, “ this conference has been going strong for six years now, and each year we are encouraged to do it again. So many have joined us and believe that the valuable information exchanged over two and a half days is just immeasurable.”

Registration for the seminar is $385 per participant and includes meals, courses, speakers and activities. New Orleans tours and events are also offered as optional conference activities on Aug. 14 and 17.

After August 1st, registration fees will increase.  Online registration is available at  www.regonline.com/louisianaoilgas2012 and on-site registration will be available throughout the conference.

The Roosevelt Hotel is located at 123 Baronne Street, New Orleans, LA.
