Conservation Office to Hold Seminar on Hazardous Liquids in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE—Louisiana hazardous liquids operators and contractors will have the opportunity to attend a two-day training seminar to be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Baton Rouge on Aug. 6th and 7th.
The seminar will be presented by the state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Office of Conservation Pipeline Safety Section and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Pipeline Safety. Each year, safety seminars are held throughout the country designed to familiarize industry personnel with the latest information and updates on pipeline safety regulations.
Conservation's Pipeline Safety Director Mariano Hinojosa said the seminar will also address procedures for reporting accidents and the handling of emergencies by operators, and notice of construction requirements.
Presenters include Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) Specialist Wayne St. Germain and Associate Instructor Edward "Buzz" Fant of Oklahoma City, OK and Manager of Louisiana One Call David Frey.
