With support and funding from DNR and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Louisiana’s Clean Cities coalitions are working to make our state a healthier, better place to live and work by promoting use of alternative fuels, advanced technology for vehicles, biofuels, and other renewable resources. The mission for a Clean City program is to adopt practices that reduce dependency on foreign oil and at the same time help the environment.

Joining the designated Greater Baton Rouge Clean Cities will be the Southeast Clean Fuels Partnership that encompasses the parishes of Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, St. Charles, and St. John the Baptist. Also participating in the conference will be the Shreveport/Bossier City Clean City Coalition.

DOE will announce the official designation of the Southeast Clean Fuels Partnership on Wednesday, March 26th at 9:00 AM at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans.

Clean Cities is a government-industry partnership sponsored by DOE’s Vehicle Technologies Program. With almost 90 local coalitions and more than 5,400 stakeholders, Clean Cities' goal is to reduce petroleum consumption in the transportation sector.
