DNR GEOLOGIST ELECTED TO NATIONAL BOARD
Dr. Madhurendu B. Kumar, Geologist Supervisor with the state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Office of Conservation has recently been elected Treasurer of the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG). As an officer of AIPG, he will serve on the National Executive Committee until 2002.
The organization was founded in 1963 and presently has over 5,000 members in the United States and abroad. The national headquarters is located in Westminster, Colorado. The AIPG promotes geology as a career, stresses public service and certifies the competence and ethical conduct of geological scientists.
Dr. Kumar has twice been honored with the group's Presidential Certificate of Merit for excellence and leadership.
