DNR Participates in Clean Fleet Leaders Awards
Several SE fleets make strides to reduce gas emissions

During the June meeting of the Regional Planning Commission of New Orleans, several area business fleets were recognized for their efforts to reduce fuel usage as well as greenhouse gas emissions in the state.
The Southeast Louisiana Clean Fuel Partnership announced the winners of its Clean Fleet Leaders Awards on June 14, 2016, while commending fleet managers for their accomplishments in five GGE reduction categories. GGE stands for Gasoline Gallons Equivalents for Alternative Fuels.
State Department of Natural Resources Technology Assessment and Energy Director Paul Miller spoke to the gathering emphasizing the importance of alternative fuels and a cleaner environment. “We all can play a role in reducing carbon dioxide emissions," noted Miller. Miller and SLCFP Director Rebecca Otte presented to all award recipients which included the Regional Transit Authority of New Orleans, UPS, Entergy, and the Port of New Orleans.
