DNR reports nomination of state land for leasing program for April

BATON ROUGE- The state Mineral and Energy Board has received nominations for its monthly Mineral Lease Sale to be held April 8, 2015. The deadline for receipt of nominations for the April 2015 mineral lease sale was January 26^th.

The Board’s administrative unit, the Department of Natural Resources’ Office of Mineral Resources, reported today that 4 nominations containing approximately 2,071 acres were received. The nominations covered land in the parishes of Vermilion and Lafourche.

These are preliminary figures leading up to the preparation of the actual number of tracts and tracts acreage that will be advertised for leasing.
