DNR reports nomination of state land for leasing program for May

BATON ROUGE- The state Mineral and Energy Board has received nominations for its monthly Mineral Lease Sale to be held May 13, 2015.  The deadline for receipt of nominations for the May 2015 mineral lease sale was February 23^rd.

The Board’s administrative unit, the Department of Natural Resources’ Office of Mineral Resources, reported today that three nominations containing approximately 116 acres were received. The nominations covered land in the parishes of Caddo, DeSoto, and St. Mary.

These are preliminary figures leading up to the preparation of the actual number of tracts and tracts acreage that will be advertised for leasing.
