DNR's Energy Efficient Homes Course for Builders starts June 1st

Home builders throughout the state are being offered a special training course on how to build better quality homes by the Department of Natural Resource's Energy Section. The course and textbook entitled, "Builder's Guide to Energy Efficient Homes in Louisiana" will be offered June 1 through June 24 in ten cities across the state.

Participants in the course will receive four hours of continuing education credit toward license renewal, in addition to gaining valuable information on indoor air quality, modern solar designs, and other energy efficiency topics. Builders will also learn of financial incentives for home buyers who purchase certified energy efficient homes. The course has been approved by the Louisiana Contractors Licensing Board as a requirement for Residential Builder License Renewals. There is no fee for the course.
