February Lease Sale by Mineral and Energy Board results in $1.1 million for state
The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, February 26th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected over $1.1 million in bonus revenue for the state in the February lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2013-14 total collected to over $13.9 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 20 leases covering 2,991 acres, out of 44 nominated tracts covering more than 63,234 acres.
The Board sold leases in Calcasieu, Cameron, Concordia, Jefferson Davis, Lafourche, Plaquemines, Terrebonne and Vermilion parishes.
Newly appointed members serving on the Board and attending this month’s committee meetings and mineral lease sale were Ted Haik, Jr. of New Iberia and Chip Kline of Baton Rouge.
