February Mineral Lease Sale Figures Posted

The State Mineral and Energy Board on Wednesday conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected more than $500,000 in bonuses in the February mineral lease sale, bringing the total collected for FY 10-11 to more than $24.3 million. For the calendar year, the total is more than $2.7 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 10 leases covering more than 380 acres, out of 17 nominated tracts covering more than 7,000 acres. The Board sold leases in Acadia, Caddo, Iberia, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Plaquemines and Sabine parishes. Of the 10 tracts awarded, 4 were in north Louisiana and 6 were located in the southern parishes.
