February Mineral Lease Sale Totals Announced

BATON ROUGE - The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, February 11th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $307,035 in bonus revenue for the state in the February lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2014-15 total collected to $8 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 11 leases covering 1,089 acres, out of 43 nominated tracts covering more than 52,221 acres. The leases were sold in Bossier, Cameron, Jefferson, Lafourche, St. Landry, Tangipahoa and Vermilion parishes.
In last fiscal year 2013-14, the board collected a total of $18.3 million in state revenue.
