Governor's Coastal Flyover on Friday, Oct. 22

Wednesday, October 20, 2004

BATON ROUGE- Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco will host key Congressional committee staffers and national conservation representatives in a coastal flyover Friday, October 22, 2004. U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu will also join the group in Port Fourchon to participate.

The flyover will give participants a bird's eye view of critical areas of coastal land loss, restoration projects, barrier island needs and parts of the lower Atchafalaya Basin.

The coastal flyover is a part of a continuing effort to educate Congress and citizens around the nation about Louisiana's vanishing coastline, America's Wetland, and the imminent threat this loss poses to our nation's security, environment and energy sources.
