La. Mineral and Energy Board report on September Lease Sale

The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, September 9th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $476,440 in bonus revenue for the state in the September lease sale. To date, the total collected in bonus payments for this fiscal year, FY2015-16 is $3.5 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 10 leases covering 1,598 acres, with nominated tracts covering just over 54,402 acres. The leases were located in Allen, DeSoto, Iberia, and Terrebonne parishes.
In the last fiscal year, the Board collected a total of $14 million in bonus payments and over $432.9 million in royalties for the state.
