March Mineral Lease Sale Results announced by board

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $440,966 in bonus revenue for the state in the March lease sale. The current FY 2016-17 total bonus payment amount is $1.6 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 21 leases covering 1,010 acres. The leases were located in Acadia, Avoyelles, Calcasieu, Evangeline, Jefferson, Lafayette, St. Landry and Terrebonne parishes.
According to the Board, the total mineral bonus payments to the state for FY 2015-16 amounted to $5.5 million.
