Mineral and Energy Board announce February Lease Sale results
BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $519,939 in bonus revenue for the state in the February lease sale. To date, the total collected in bonus payments for this fiscal year, FY2015-16 is $4.9 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 18 leases covering 2,379 acres, with nominated tracts covering just over 23,819 acres. The leases were located in Beauregard, Jefferson, LaSalle, Plaquemies, St. Mary, Terrebonne and Washington parishes.
In the last fiscal year, the Board collected a total of $14 million in bonus payments and over $432.9 million in royalties for the state.
