Mineral and Energy Board announce Lease Sale results for December

The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, December 10th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $634,492 in bonus revenue for the state in the December lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2014-15 total collected to $5 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 10 leases covering 1,169 acres, out of 22 nominated tracts covering more than 12,943 acres. The leases were sold in Acadia, Calcasieu, Claiborne, Concordia, Jefferson, Lafayette, Plaquemines and Terrebonne parishes.
In last fiscal year 2013-14, the board collected a total of $18.3 million in state revenue.
