Mineral and Energy Board Announce Results of April Lease Sale

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $139,930 in bonus revenue for the state in the April lease sale. To date, the total collected in bonus payments for this fiscal year, FY2015-16 is $5.1 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded four leases covering 644 acres, with nominated tracts covering just over 9,360 acres. The leases were located in Assumption, Lafourche, Jefferson and Pointe Coupee parishes.
In the last fiscal year, the Board collected a total of $14 million in bonus payments and over $432.9 million in royalties for the state.
