Mineral and Energy Board announces December lease sale results

BATON ROUGE -- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, December 9th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $482,109 in bonus revenue for the state in the December lease sale. To date, the total collected in bonus payments for this fiscal year, FY2015-16 is $4.1 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded seven leases covering 1,485 acres, with nominated tracts covering just over 82,769 acres. The leases were located in Cameron, St. Mary and Terrebonne parishes.
In the last fiscal year, the Board collected a total of $14 million in bonus payments and over $432.9 million in royalties for the state.
