Mineral and Energy Board brings $1.1 million in revenue in October Lease Sale

BATON ROUGE- The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, October 8th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $1.1 million in bonus revenue for the state in the October lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2014-15 total collected to $4.3 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 10 leases covering 2,962 acres, out of 13 nominated tracts covering more than 12,488 acres. In last FY 2013-14, the board collected a total of $18.3 million in state revenue.
The Board sold leases in Catahoula, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Landry and Union parishes.
