Mineral and Energy Board brings $1.5 million with start of new FY for state

Baton Rouge-The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, July 9th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected $1.5 million in bonus revenue for the state in the July lease sale, which begins the start of the new Fiscal Year 2014-2015. The FY 2013-14 ending total collected by the state board was $18.3 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 15 leases covering 7,561 acres, out of 39 nominated tracts covering more than 62,867 acres. The Board sold leases in Avoyelles, Caddo, Catahoula, Concordia, Plaquemines, St. Martin and Vermilion parishes.
