Mineral and Energy Board brings $3 million in revenue for August Lease Sale

BATON ROUGE - The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, August 12th  in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. 

 

The Board collected $3 million in bonus revenue for the state in the August lease sale. At the July Lease Sale, the board collected $9,005.

 

At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 21 leases covering 1,443 acres, with nominated tracts covering just over 1,528 acres. The leases were located in Cameron, Catahoula, Concordia, Jackson, Lincoln, and Pointe Coupee parishes.

 

In FY 2014-15, ending June 30th, the board collected a total of $14 million in state revenue.
