Mineral and Energy Board holds Lease Sale in May

Baton Rouge-The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, May 14th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $580,974. in bonus revenue for the state in the May lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2013-14 total collected to over $17.1 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 12 leases covering 1,817 acres, out of 47 nominated tracts covering more than 30,840 acres.
The Board sold leases in Acadia, Allen, Cameron, Plaquemines, St. Helena, St. Martin, and Terrebonne parishes.
