Mineral and Energy Board holds March Lease Sale

Baton Rouge-The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, March 12th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $769,753 in bonus revenue for the state in the March lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2013-14 total collected to over $14.7 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 9 leases covering 2,513 acres, out of 40 nominated tracts covering more than 57,073 acres.
The Board sold leases in Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Charles, Terrebonne and Vermilion parishes.
