Mineral and Energy Board Lease Sale brings $3.7 million for state in June

BATON ROUGE - The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, June 10th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $3.7 million in bonus revenue for the state in the June lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2014-15 total collected to $14 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 9 leases covering 841 acres, out of 35 nominated tracts covering more than 4,786 acres. The leases were sold in DeSoto, Jackson, Lafourche, and Lincoln parishes.
In last fiscal year 2013-14, the board collected a total of $18.3 million in state revenue.
