Mineral and Energy Board Provides July Lease Sale Results

BATON ROUGE - The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, July 8th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $9,005 in bonus revenue for the state in the July lease sale, resulting in the new Fiscal Year 2015-16 total collected. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 2 leases covering 36 acres, with nominated tracts covering just over 2,071 acres. The leases were sold in Evangeline and Lafourche parishes.
In FY 2014-15, ending June 30th, the board collected a total of $14 million in state revenue.
