Mineral and Energy Board Reports September Lease Sale Results

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $156,244 in bonus revenue for the state in the September lease sale. The FY 2016-17 total bonus payment amount is $558,527.
At this month’s lease sale, there were five leases covering 765 acres, with nominated tracts covering 15,373 acres. The leases were located in St. Martin, Terrebonne and Vermilion parishes.
According to the Board, mineral bonus payments to the state in FY 2015-16 amounted to $5.5 million.
