MINERAL BOARD RELEASES SEPTEMBER FIGURES and FEE INCREASE
The State Mineral Board conducted a Lease Sale September 13, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mineral Board Hearing Room located in the State Land and Natural Resources Building in Baton Rouge. Below are the preliminary results of the Lease Sale and 2000-2001 Fiscal Year totals.

In other Board action, members moved to set the fee for nonexclusive seismic permits for state lands and water bottoms including wildlife and management areas and refuges. In accordance with the new law (Act 8 of the 2nd Extraordinary Session 2000), the Mineral Board voted a $15 dollar per acre fee for geological and geophysical surveys on state lands and water bottoms and a $30 dollar per acre fee for lands and water bottoms under the jurisdiction of the state's Wildlife and Fisheries Commission.
