State and local officials have scheduled a contract signing ceremony Monday, May 5th to announce the go ahead for new projects within the Atchafalaya Basin Program.
Senator Butch Gautreaux, officials of the Department of Natural Resources’ Atchafalaya Basin Program (ABP), and Assumption Parish Police Jury will sign a contract to fund $1.3 million for construction and improvements at the public boat landing on Lake Verret. The signing will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Senate Briefing Room of the State Capitol.
The improvements will include construction of a new launch area with an extended bulkhead, and paving of the parking area. A covered pavilion and restrooms will be built, along with sewer treatment facilities, timber docks and walkways, handicap accessibility and external lighting.
