Pipeline Safety Seminar to Focus on New Regulations

A seminar focusing on pipeline safety, current regulations, and national security will be held at the Hotel Acadiana Conference Center Hotel in Lafayette on May 22 and 23, 2003.

The seminar is sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Office of Conservation Pipeline Safety and the Louisiana Gas Association (LGA) and will also address pipeline damage prevention, operator qualifications and the compliance inspection process.

Lane Miller, an instructor for the Transportation Safety Institute School in Oklahoma City, will conduct the seminar. Other presenters will include David Frey, Manager of LA One Call Damage Prevention; Thelma Latham, general manager of LA One Call Operations; Vic Weston, owner of Tri State Boring; Joel Kohler, LGA Damage Prevention Chairman; Bob Guice, Entergy Gas and Sidney Reed, FBI special agent. State and federal regulatory agents and LGA representatives will be available to answer questions.
